The Archipelago of Ovarian Cancer Research (AOCR) biobank supports cutting-edge research to improve ovarian cancer outcomes by enhancing disease understanding and treatment strategies. Over three years, 1093 patients were enrolled from 17 hospitals, collecting 1339 tissue and 2280 blood samples. This biobank highlights critical infrastructure-building challenges such as ethical approvals, data protection, and consortium agreements while providing a valuable resource for fundamental and translational research. With 74% of patients diagnosed with primary ovarian cancer and most presenting with advanced-stage disease, the AOCR biobank is set to significantly impact future research.
